How well does gorilla glue work on concrete walls
How well does gorilla glue work on concrete walls?l wanna attach a curtain
rod and l know drilling a hole up there will be a pain.l have a huge
window and my tv directly under the curtain. Will the gorilla glue hold it
up?l dont wanna replace the tv if the rod falls.
The biggest problem with gluing anything to concrete is the
surface needs to be absolutely clean & free from any loose material. About
the only way to assure this is to chip away the surface so you have fresh
concrete exposed.
Rent a hammer drill & use some mechanical wall anchors such as lead
anchors or similar method of attachment. There are probably three or four choices for the type of anchor to use. Take a look at the local hardware store & choose the one that best for ur application.
Definately use a hammer-drill and drill out a hole using a
masonry bit. Concrete will most likely be too porous for Gorilla-Glue.
To be quite honest, there is no glue made to do the job you
want it to. Tape either. If you are worried about ur T.V. set, you will
have to move it someplace other than where it is ,or put the curtain rods
up the correct way. And that would be ,unfortunately ,to drill & use a
anchor. It really is not that difficult to do. If you want a fairly easy
but safe way,use those masonry screws. You only need to drill a small hole
with a masonry bit, then screw the screw right into the concrete without an anchor. Sorry about the glue. Byee
Use a product called Powergrab. Home Depot & Lowe is both
carry it. If ur rod has ends that will come off of the rod, take them off
shoot a glob of powergrab on them, place them where you want them & use
blue tape to hold them on the wall. Let it set overnight & it should be
good to go, just don't hang like castle curtains on it. Drilling concrete
really isn't that bad. You just need a cordless drill that hammers(hammer
drill) you will be surprised how quickly it will cut through concrete.
Gorilla glue requires Clamping... I'd find a way to drill
into the concrete with a masonry drill bit.. and use screws.
Things glued with Gorilla Glue need to be clamped until dry.
Not sure how you would do this on a wall. This glue expands when drying so
you don't want to overdo it. I have been buying Elmers Ultimate glue. Works
the same as Gorilla glue and is cheaper.
